Please find here the recording and summary of our fifth Weekly THORWallet AMA episode with the THORWallet Founder Marcel Harmann and CTO Severin, hosted by Archon which took place live in Discord on the 20th of January.

These Weekly AMAs are a crucial instrument to keep users and community members up to date about recent developments and important news. We will talk about recent events, product development, introduce individual team members, discuss roadmap items, and more.

First, we welcome Severin, CTO at THORWallet for the first time to our AMA series and start with a few questions about him and his role.

Hi everyone, my name is Severin and I am running the Swiss tech venture builder Axelra, helping Thorwallet to build its ambitious product. In this role, I also act as the CTO.

I have more than 15 years of experience building and growing digital products and businesses around them. We are currently a team of 15 people at Axelra.

In the past, we already built multiple successful finance- and blockchain-related projects like mobile apps for Swiss banks, Sibex (an early DeFi project offering decentralized atomic swaps for BTC & ETH trading) as well as FQX (a digital marketplace for promissory notes on the blockchain) as well as several Ethereum-based platforms.

Our motivation to build THORWallet has been that it is the perfect platform to achieve our shared vision of making DeFi investment and yields accessible to everybody in just a few clicks.

THORChain itself offers a revolutionary technology and its big and knowledgable dev community welcomed us with open arms. Still, building on THORChain also poses challenges, like tracking the complex transaction structure of the cross-chain swaps.

A lot has happened during the last few weeks and we, therefore, want to do a short retrospective on the most important events.

Big NFT Update

You can now view and manage your NFTs within THORWallet! Art first we support all NFTs on Ethereum but will soon expand our integration towards other blockchains like Terra.

Additionally, we also integrated the support for all THORWallet Army NFTs once you transferred them to your THORWallet Ethereum address, granting you the respective benefits.

An issue with the most recent iOS Update

Unfortunately, our latest iOS update has not yet been published by Apple (updates are checked manually by the Apple staff and typically need longer to get approved than on the Google Play Store) but you can alternatively get the current Testflight version via this link: https://apple.co/3GS4fHn. This is a fully tested version of THORWallet and can be used in production.

DOGE goes #THORFi

Doge has recently be integrated with THORChain and both providing liquidity and swapping $DOGE is live on the protocol. This is a huge milestone for THORChain, as Doge is the first new blockchain integration in a long time and it marks the first time that $DOGE can be traded in a non-custodial way and its holders can earn yield in DeFi (by providing liquidity on THORChain).

Our current plan is to add $DOGE support within THORWallet from February on.

Rewards for Single-Side Staking

In honour of our loyal stakers and $TGT holders, we will extend single-sided staking for another 2–4 weeks at 250% and initiate the LP rewards (e.g. for the RUNE/TGT pool) after that. The beginning of the LP rewards emission will also be synchronized to the next bigger THORChain cap raise so that new liquidity providers can enter the pool.

THORWallet’s 2022 Q1 Roadmap

We recently announced our roadmap for Q1 2022 and it is packed with great stuff!

Some highlights from Marcel and Severin:

Mission Rewards: The start of THORWallet’s Mission Rewards will also bring gamification to the product and help boost broader adoption.
Wallet Connect: The addition of Wallet Connect is an important feature for THORWallet as it finally allows to interact with Web 3.0 applications. People will now be able to use THORWallet as their only crypto application.
Detailed gas customization for Ethereum: Ethereum is still one of the most important blockchains by far and supporting gas customizations within THORWallet is a very important functionality for us, allowing anyone to save on gas or speed up transactions as they see fit.
